Work hard PLAY hard!=D

IT'S FINALLY SUNDAY!
Jap lunch buffet and partyworld-ing with Wai Kei's family=D As part of a celebration for his mother's bday.

Buffet is really not for me. But I'm sure the restaurant will love me=)

Yummy food, esp beef, can really create magic. Even Wai Kei became so well-versed in 成语. =P

Xie xie ni lai fetch wo=) Heez...

And a new record is set! 90% Jay Chou songs loh... Hor Wai Kei=P *Someone should start learning my songs=P*

1st time singing with Wai Kei's whole family, including his aunts. Everyone so high=D

All in all, I had a great time!=D Whee~

SATURDAY!
It's Final Fantasy: Distant World! Wai Kei booked it during our reading period, whee~ something we (esp he) have been so looking forward to=) Thanks Pok for letting him know about it. We were all really excited about it=)
1st time watching an orchestra performance @ Esplanade. Really grand really amazing=)
Although there was a screen playing the different scenes from FF, I was still very much mesmerized by the live orchestra playing all the different kinds of instruments.=D For that moment, how I wish I can play an instrument, at least properly. HehX2=) But I know dance is still for me=)

Although we left without getting an up-close interaction with the composer of FF songs, we still enjoyed the performance=D

Even though I dont play FF and he only showed me some of their story, I really LOVE One-winged Angel - the encore song=D I really prefer the more intense songs although there are really touching love songs.
F.R.I.D.A.Y.
No work for me. Went for BCA scholarship interviews. Really glad that I selected for interviews.=D

But competition is really strong, 100plus applicants competing for only 26 scholarships.

But it's okie, I did my best and the rest is up to the companies=) Joel and Dawn also went for interviews. Hope all of us from PFMs will get it hehehe=) By the way, we are competing with civil and mechanical engineering students too. So hope for the best=D
Just nice my 2nd interview was at Novena Square and Wai Kei is working at United Square, so met him for lunch. Lunch with him calmed myself down before the interview.=D
After that, it's shopping time while waiting for him to knock off for work=)

After his working hours, I went up to his "office" to admire the super nice view from 32nd storey=D Met his boss and chatted with him awhile too - he's a nice man, glad that Wai Kei is under his guidance=)
Had sub-way dinner before we headed back to his house for his mum surprise bday celebration=)

Surprise's success!=D

FRI, SAT AND SUN are so precious esp when we are working=) So most of the time it's packedX3! But I love it! Gives me something to look forward to every working day=D

And I'm beginning to like internship even more cos I went on site surveying today!=D My colleague is really very experienced and insightful, learnt alot from him. More site surveying tomorrow=)

AndX3 PFM dinner this Fri! Whee~

27th steamboat gang this Sat! Whee~

And more Kenshin watching=D=D=D

I'm proud of myself!=D

1. Work, work, work~

It's the 3rd day of internship. Got more used to working in a private company as compared to MOE during last internship.

Although initially (esp the 1st day) the jump is really big and I was thinking it's only the 1st day. Luckily, things are getting better and are better than what I expected=)

I'm counting my blessings. I know at least I'm kept occupied and am learning relevant things. Colleagues are really friendly, patient and willing to guide me.=)

I'm proud that I am pushing myself beyond my comfort zone and for every challenge, no matter how small it may be, that I overcome, I know I'm growing and learning. Glad that Gary in a way reminded me when he asked about my internship.

And finally, it's Wed! Wai Kei has promised to meet up for dinner every Wed (at least=P I dont mind more!) during our internships so that we (more of me) have something to look forward to every work week=)
1 week of holidays before internship mainly spent at hone lazing around and of course meeting Wai Kei for dinner! Haha... Been shopping too much during the sem and even during holidays (eg. Daiso!), so other than dinner outings, I just stay at home and self entertain=)

2. The proud-est thing that I must applaud myself is that I completed the Forest Adventure @ Bedok Reservior!

If it's not because of the tickets my brother won, I wouldn't have even consider spending $30 to attempt it!

It's been weighing on my mind ever since we made the booking. We even postponed the initial booking due to bad weather - meaning even more worrying.
So I did it!=D The Grand Course - with 4 sites and 4 zip lines across the reservior! Really tested my courage and pushed myself to (barely) overcome my fear of height!

I'm glad that Wai Kei is there to make it seemed achievable and gave me lots of motivation. High on top of obstacles, even simple words became really comforting and empowering=) No wonder during secondary sch camps, we are encouraged to cheer on for our friends on the high elements. I thought it was only meant to make the camp more lively=P

Anyway, xie xie ni!=D Ni zui bang!=D
Let's do more of jigsaw puzzling instead yea=D *no more adventureX2 pls=P*

But I do love nature=) This explains why photos are always so pretty when taken outdoor, esp with natural lighting=)
AndX3! Yeah! We completed our 2nd puzzle!=D But one went missing=( I was super depressed. But Wai Kei's cousin and her bf were really sweet to say that it's unique. And Wai Kei keeps saying it's beautifully imperfect. I know I know=) Thanks!
Oh! And he found out that we can get a replacement for that piece! WHEE~=D

I shall continue to push myself beyond my limits=)
Andx3 I love it that there's many activities for me to look forward to!=D
  • Singapore Arts Festival 2009 Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy with Wai Kei
  • Jap lunching and Kbox with Wai Kei's family
  • PFM dinner @ City Hall

Whee~ JiayouzX2 everyone! Work is only a small part of life! Let's live to work and not work to live=) Work hard play hard!=D

Healthy living=)

  • Overdosage of Nacho Cheese, Bens & Jerry, instant noodles, instant miso soups, Bedok 85 during exam period.

  • It's time to eat healthier. Esp now that our internship is starting soon, we need healthy yet filling snacks to bring us through the afternoon slump.

  • So I happily went grocery shopping -with my "I'm 100% Green" pink bag! Trying to do a little to save the Earth and it makes shopping at NTUC less auntie muahahahaha...

  • But still, amidst all the choosing, walking around NTUC, somehow, I do feel abit like my mummy haha...

  • Alright! So here we have - cereals, oats, wholegrain, calcium whatever that have less salt, less fat but high nutrition contents=D Together with our lunch boxes - ta-da! Our healthy-living-internship-snack pack=)
  • Yeah! Met Wai Kei after his work at United Sq. He looks like Detective Loke=D
  • More healthy living at Subway=)

  • The salad is nice=) He prefers Cold Cut Trio over the Tuna which he tried ysd=) Although it's abit more expensive, but it is loaded with lots of vege and no bread means less carbo=) *Although their breads are considerably healthier than white bread that we normally eat=)*

  • We then packed ourselves onto the crowded bus - off we went to his house for jigsaw puzzle!=D
  • We settled the frame alrd! And we decided to take it slowly this time round, as we have 3months holidays=) We dont want to end up finishing a 1000pc puzzle within a day, right after our last paper last sem. Leaving us with nothing to do for a few days. And I think this puzzle is more challenging than the previous. Excited about completing it!=D
  • And more of healthy living this Sat! Thanks to my brother who won 2 free adventure for Forest Adventure, we are heading to Bedok Reservior this Sat! *sweaty palms=S* Hoping for good weather!=D

  • Oh! Talking about healthy living - Buddhist Society is having a vege BBQ! Never knew BBQ can be vegeterian, so I am looking forward to Camp Ehi Passiko=)

  • AndX3! 6C gathering@Hometown receives overwhelming responses! Everyone is super enthu about it! Whee~ Our 10th year is worth celebrating with lots of gatherings=)

What a Lovely Sunday=)

  • Whee~ Shopped at Tampines 1 with Wai Kei=) Really big and alot of shops=) And we found out that pure honey comes with a price. Sad, didnt get to eat at Kim Gary - it's okie, I'm going back there for it!
  • Tuition on a Sunday can be good - esp when it's pay day. An immediate mood booster=) But most of the time, I really wish to sleep on my comfy comfy bed, esp on a rainy cooling day.
  • Photos show my lack of sleep and bad hair day. But still want to take pics, so have to use 障眼法=D

  • And I always love the bright blue sky with fluffy clouds on such a lovely Sunday=) Always make the trip especially happy with you=)
  • Hope Leele dont see this blog entry.=P
  • Bagged home skincare products that are finishing and VitC from Wai Kei for immune booster.
  • Cant wait to start our jigsaw puzzle project2=D=D=D
  • And xie xie ni for driving us to meet our daddy for our mummy's day dinner=)
  • My family really loves thai food, especially daddy=) Whatever it is, it's been quite some time since we go out and eat a proper meal together=) All of us have different holidays and exams periods. Happy that we can come together to celebrate mummy's day - dinner and shopping at Bugis=) Finally no more Mustafa shopping during late night!
  • Hope Mummy feels our appreciation for her=) Most importantly, every day should be a happy day=)
  • Our 三人大头贴!=D Muahahahaha... My holidays mark the start of my bro's exams. 幸灾乐祸=P And my sis is into her last year of poly, quick graduate and start bringing income home too! Muahahahaha... For now, I shall enjoy my 3months holidays hehehe=D

  • Okie, think I have digested the super late supper -my favourite dish by mummy lemak=D Have to eat it no matter how late it is=) The power of mummy's dishes - nice but scary=P
  • Nights! Tomorrow shall be another great day=)

  • 第一天。。。加油加油喔~ =D

Afresh

  • I love rain, especially rainy nights=)
  • Fresh and cool air, quiet and peaceful night - love how it always keep me feel so much more afresh.

  • Been wanting to blog, but suddenly dont know where to start, especially when I have already uploaded all photos onto facebook. Guess I shall do more short posts to capture any thoughts and encounters I have=)

  • Done with Year 3=) A very fulfilling year - dance, perform, 5mods instead of 6mods, my "reborn-ed" hair, Joyce and Joel back in SDE, my sem2 nannny Tsz Ching and of course Mr. Loke Wai Kei=)

  • Great sem, loved the mods I took. Tsz Ching and I highly recommend Physics in Life Sciences and Natural Heritage of Singapore - interesting, understandable, mcqs=)
  • I love science modules, basic ones of course hehX2... Arts - maybe only Chinese modules=) No more geo mods.

  • Finally fulfiled my desire to perform on stage again - as a dancer=) Being someone else on stage and feeling the music and beats in my body - an experience I can only get when I'm on stage. Love the fact that it helped me find time to exercise in the midst of the busy project-y sem=) And I'm glad I have Wei Juan to accompany to join dhops, audition for Cactus and then perform together! Keep dancing yea?
  • I think I will miss performing again, even though I know I wouldnt want to do it next year as its time for my rooftop garden dissertation=)

  • I'm really glad that I have 1 week to enjoy life at my own pace before internship starts. Poor Loke Wai Kei starts this monday. And super lucky Val is already on the plane flying off to UK! Haha... Enjoy the trip, Posh!
  • Maybe I should seriously consider learning the world map from scratch (esp before Val returns), otherwise I think I have to go through many impromtu quizzes targeted at me=P

  • 3 good months of earning, saving, spending and shopping (with discipline pls), "gardening", experiencing work life as a building doctor, gatheringsX3, rest and rejuvenate=) Yippie!
  • Looking forward - First time shopping at Tampines 1 and our 2nd puzzle later, SDE let's rock it@OYJM's chalet=)
  • And I'm enjoying teaching my students, especially Leele and Tessa, who are always so lively and dramatic. And I'm proud to see them grow and mature over the years=)

  • Whee~ I love 2009!=) Love the life we are leading, appreciate not complain, peace not quarrel, now not past/future, treasure not take for granted. Choose the positive side of each coin. I believe everyone makes a difference=)
  • Yeah! It's pouring again! Nights!=D
