Frenzy hazy wkends!

Post long wkends and Mon Flu:)
Thankfully, I don’t have the time creeping slowly kind of feeling. Rather, time has been zooming passed faster than expected:) Something which I truly appreciate:)
I guess this is probably the last diy graduation photoshoot already:) 3 times – more than enough to cover the cost of the gown hehehe:) Now left our family studio photoshoot!:)
So my detox regime is moving me towards spending time out of the virtual world and getting in touch with the real solid world:) Like reading, indulging in some tv, jogging, thinking, spending time with people, housekeeping and maybe purely doing nothing.
Though I find it weird that I actually feel that I have more time and am actually leading a healthier lifestyle ever since I started work, I’m actually loving it:)
Perhaps, work has made my life more organized in some ways and also makes me appreciate personal time better:)
So far so good:) *keeping my fingers crossed*:)
- Joined the Nike City 10km Race with Ryan, Dawn, Xu Wen, Ernest, Hazel, Joel and LokeX2! And I can’t believe that the race is just 6 weeks later!
- I’m still searching for my pink casio calculator. It’s always out of stock!
- I’m looking forward to shop with the vouchers that PFMs gave me! Shoppppingggg~
- LokeX2 and I have planned a simple day out at the beach – picnic and roller blading! Whee~
- I have been having Monday Flu for the past 2 weeks, they seems to blast the aircon every Mon.

Oh longer post than I expected:) Have a great Tue! *stretched and signed off~*

1 Home and 3 Hearts:)
I once read that our body is our home:) Home for us to live. Without this home, our life is nothing. So we have got to take good care of our home and treat it well for it will bring us to where we want to go in life:)
I like it that I get to do some random thinking and contemplating during a jog, it's during this period that I also work out my brain too:) Ysd's jog got me to think about my life motto. How would I describe my way of life in as little words as possible?
Then the word "Heart" came to my mind:)
3 hearts:)
"Do everything with all my heart"
"Treat people with sincerity that comes from the bottom of my heart"
"Love and protect my heart"
I have to admit that I'm amazed by how my brain works differently during a jog:) Lots of room for thinking and reflecting - I like!:)
I have colleagues telling me I'm always smiley whenever they see me in the office:) I thought it was normal until I realize not everyone has a smiley face when they are working.
Why not? Personally, I believe smiling is a way of loving myself. It's free, it's simple and most importantly it's therapeutic:) Whatever that happens to us is something we can't control, so why not smile and make things better us, esp when things are not going too well:)
So whatever that may happen, good or bad, need not stop us from smiling and taking it on positively:) I always like to say this to my student - at this moment, something might seems difficult or bad, but imagine 5 or 10 years down the road, you may find yourself looking back and laughing at yourself.
Have a smiley Thurs!:) One more day to TGIF - more reason to smile!:)
*blogging has become my brain food:) feels good capturing my thoughts which I don't think I can rmb if I don't make myself think of a blog post:)*

Just click just blog:)
What makes all of us gather together from 9-to-5pm, playing our work roles?
Isn't it amazing how each individual from (almost) the entire nation and the world assumes a specific role to play at work?
Then when we knock off, we assume another role or perhaps return to our true identity.
Am I the only one feeling this way? Weird isn't it? :)
Anyway, it's Tue:) And it's been the 2nd week I have attempted minimalist makeup to work on those days I need to jog or when there isn't any gathering after work:) Partly cos recently I have an outbreak on my forehead and I reckon it may be due to the fact that I went jogging straight after work, with my makeup on.
And I think it is also wise to heed Deon's advice to not become too reliance on makeup and to not wear it to work everyday:)
It turns out to be good:) So now it's just sun screen and only eye makeup:) This actually gives me more to prepare in the morning, allows my skin to breathe better and faster cleansing:) Oh! And $$ saved! :)
Love myself better too!:) My complexion not as cui as I thought hehe:) It's actually my eyes that are showing signs of tiredness and dullness, hence the makeup:)
For now, I hope those stubborn pimples right smack in the middle of my forehead can vacate asap!
Happy Tue! Counting down to mid week:)

Presents:)
Looking back on how I celebrate my bday with my family, friends and my LokeX2, it's really not so much on what I get as presents, but it is their presence in my life, celebrating the special day for me and with me that really matters:)
I'm grateful for all the presents I have received (and I know will be receiving still) for this year's bday:) A slightly more special one I would supposed, as I gain a new meaning to presents and bday:)
Nevertheless, I still love all the tangible presents that I got!:D
I am thankful for the presence of all those who have entered into my life and especially those who have made an impact to me:)
I think it's rather weird that as I grow older, the less attached I am to "things" and the more sentimental I am to "people/relationships". I hope it stays this way so that I wouldn't become someone who gets obssessed with material gains and possessions:) I like my present state of mind:)
Comes each week, I realize I will look at my organizer and check the upcoming events of the week:) So for this week, there's 6C gathering and CHAOS gathering lined up wheeeee~ And tmr I meeting LokeX2 to get my bday watch:D
Not forgetting it's countdown to long weekends next week:D
Plans simply hype me up!:D
Have an eventful week ahead!:)

Loves early morning:)
Waking up early is no longer a chore as long as I get sufficient sleep and doesn't have the I-have-to-drag-myself-through-the-day feeling:)
I also allow myself enough time to prepare, have time for nice breakfast and BB surfing before I head out:)
Then it's leisure reading time on bus, which makes me feel that I'm still (young and) learning:)
Reaching office earlier allows me to reflect abit (as I blog) and also to gradually get into the work momentum:)
Loves also the warm sun rays that's shining into the office in the mornings too:)
Quite amazed by the transitions in my life and the dynamic perspectives that make me look at ourselves and the world differently:) Perhaps that's growing up:)
Let there be growth each day:) For growth is evidence that I have been living:)
On a side side note, as I was trying to type "busy" + "ness", it turns out to be "business"! Amazing!
On a final note, looking forward to Fri's PFM gathering:D *Mayb that explains why I dreamt of Hui Fang last night! She was learning/playing piano! Hahaha~*
Hope the weather will be good on TGIF:)

Friends:)
You may develop a fine career, but one day it will be over.
You may save a great sum of money, but you can't take it with you.
You may be in superb health today, but in time it will decline.
You may take pride in your accomplishments, but someone will surpass you.
Discouraged? Don't be, for one thing that really matters, lasts forever - your friendships.
Found this so true while reading one of John C Maxwell's book, Talent is Never Enough, in which he discussed about the importance of relationships.
We can't take anything away with us at the end of our live, the only thing that is evidence of our existence is what we leave behind.
Perhaps we should focus more on what we can leave behind and less on what we can take away:)
Now I can better appreciate what it meant by "To live, to love, to learn, and to leave a legacy" :)
I'm also glad that I have a handful of friends and mentors who, according to the book, are lifters in my life, they believe in me, encourage me and most importantly I feel valued and appreciated with them around:)
Without them, I would not have been who I am today:)
Looking forward to all the upcoming gatherings for the much-needed uplifting sessions admist our work:D

After 4 years in NUS SDE:)
I would like to take this opportunity to share the valedictorian speech which I have prepared and also practiced as the reserve valedictorian:) I'm really glad that Adrian didn't back out or fall sick last minute cos he is our only first class graduate and indeed he gave a great speech!:) Plus I just wish to enjoy my commencement without butterflies in my stomach haha..
Still, I would like to share this speech with my fellow PFM graduates:D
NUS Pro-Chancellor Dr Cheong Siew Keong, NUS President Professor Tan Chorh Chuan, Associate Professor Patrick Tseng, distinguished guests, fellow graduates, ladies and gentlemen, a very good evening to one and all.
Today is the day. The day where we celebrate the completion of our university education and the achievements each of us have attained thus far right here in NUS.
And today is the day where we not only commemorate our successful graduation, but also celebrate the commencement of a fresh new chapter of our life.
Today is also the day where we all come together, not solely as the class of 2010, but also as course-mates, friends and perhaps soon-to-be colleagues, just like how we came together four years ago for our inauguration, although completely unacquainted then, as freshmen, or more affectionately known as the freshies.
Today, I stand before you, humbled and honoured, to be given this opportunity to deliver the valedictory speech on behalf of the graduating class of the Projects and Facilities Management Programme.
First and foremost, being the pioneer batch of this programme, our courage to embark on this new journey and to walk the path that has yet to be travelled is definitely worth applauding. I am thus very proud to be here together with a group of promising graduates who represent the pioneers to be conferred this degree.
No doubt, today is the day where we finally graduate with an honors degree. However, I would like to believe that we graduate with more than just an honors degree. More specifically we graduate with shared memories with our friends and we graduate with bonds that are meant to last beyond our university life. From the drinks stall uncle in Techno Edge who never fails to brighten up our school days to the times we spent with our group mates in the computer labs for our presentations and projects that never seemed to end. Day by day, year by year, all these inevitably form an intangible but yet huge part of the degree we are graduating with today.
The point I’m driving at is this. As much as we recognize the importance of education and life-long learning, as much as we spend more than 10 over years pursuing our education and as much as we know that qualification is the key, or at least, one of the keys, to the next stage of our life, I always believe that there is much more to it.
There is definitely much more to life. Learning is one of the many aspects of it and I’m proud to say that each of our presence here has proven that we have indeed excelled in this aspect.
Even the degree scrolls we are holding now encompasses more than just what we have learnt, but also the memories we share and the friendships we gain. So it is with life. As we now move on to our career, which I believe will form a major part of our life, let us not forget about the other important elements of life other than work, status and monetary gains. Family, friends, love, health, happiness and growth are equally or even much more important in the pursuit of success in our life.
Although we, as the pioneer batch of PFM graduates, may face challenges in establishing ourselves in the construction industry at the initial stage. Let’s be hopeful and embrace our new phase of life with the same level of enthusiasm and confidence we have during our orientation camp 4 years ago. I’m sure a couple of years down the road, we will be able to savour the sweet taste of success.
Today is the day where we enjoy the fruits of our labour, celebrate the bonds we share with our course-mates and also give thanks to our parents and loved ones. Therefore I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents, daddy mummy 谢谢你! And not forgetting my PFM friends, especially the 13 of them who are always seated at the left side of the LT, you all are the best!
And as I approach the end of my speech, may I appeal to my fellow graduates to also let today be the day where we start to better appreciate our life as we strive to learn, to live, to love, to laugh and to leave a legacy in each of our own lives. Thank you!
(After National Anthem)
As we remain standing, my fellow graduates, this is a proud day for all of us and for our parents and loved ones, who have supported us in our journey here.
Therefore, before we leave this hall, let us take this opportunity to show our appreciation for our family and friends with a round of applause.
Please join me in this gesture. Thank you.”
Happy graduation, class of 2010, pioneer batch of PFMs!:D I'm really proud to have known each and every single one of you all:)
I guess no amount of photos will be enough to commemorate such a happy milestone of my life with such fabulous people:D
LOVE my family!:D Thanks to my daddy and mummy for making me into what I am today:D And my sister and brother who always are there to entertain me! Haha..
Mr Loke Wai Kei for always being such a patient, sincere, thoughtful and ever sweet and loving bf:D My last 2 years of uni life would not be the same if not for you:) Xie xie ni!:DAnd coincidentally, our 2nd year anni was one day before our commencement:D Double celebrations double joy:D And he surprised me with a hand-drawn bouquet of flowers with Stitch:) Long story cut short, we actually agreed to prepare our present one week after commencement, but he cheated and I didn't prepare any!:S
I WAS HERE was simply too crowded so we made do with pirated versions of it:) And I like it!:D

Up till now

- Arrived and checked in (Jordan)

- Wantan Mee lunch (Mongkok)
- "Far East style" shopping @ Argyle Centre! (Mongkok)
- Avenue of Stars (Tsim Sha Tsui)
- Symphony of Light (TST)
The night view was nice:) But the symphony thingy was only alright, nothing really fantastic. We very much prefer to breeze:) - KFC dinner and Mazazu Crepe @ Habour City (TST)
Oh! Mazazu Crepe is heavenly too! Tried Strawberry cake. As nice as the one I tried in Japan:) And there's an outlet in S'pore Liant Court:D - Shopping @ Sasa
Sasa and Bonjour are like everywhere. So every night before we returned to hotel, I couldnt help but step into one and buy something almost every night!
- Dan dan mian and soya milk breakfast (Jordan)
One of my favourite meal! The dan dan mian is nice:) Why all the food in HK like also so nice? - The Peak tram, Sky Terrace and Madame Tussauds wax museum (Central)
- Shopping @ Citygate Outlets (Tung Cheng)
Wai Kei was surprised that I didnt spend at all there. I wanted to buy high cut shoes, but just couldnt find one that I really like, so I saved the $ for more shopping hehe:) - Temple Street preview (Jordan)
Wai Kei was disappointed that he could not find street food there. - Dessert @ 绵绵冰 (Jordan)
But we were delighted to find this shop otw back to our hotel. :) The mango dessert is nice even though I'm not a mango lover:)
- Breakfast @ highly raved Mido Cafe (Yau Ma Tei)
Omg! The 菠萝包 is soooooo nice!:D Wish I could bring it over to S'pore lah! I no longer want to eat those in S'pore alrd lah, they really pale in comparison (either that or I have yet to eat those HK standard ones). - Off to HK Disneyland! Whee~
- Japanese dinner (Yau Ma Tei)
Again, delicious food even if it's just some random stalls that we decided to give it a try. - Shopping @ Bonjour
Enough said. Habitual shopping.

- Off to Macau!

- Went to explore Langhram Place but it's more mid-range shopping with those popular brands like H&M, Shu Umera, Lush etc. So I decided to head over to Argyle Centre again! I spare Mr Loke and let him go back to hotel to rest 1st.
- Off to Shenzhen!
- Windows of the World
We were quite tired to explore the entire area and as we wanted to wait for the free performance at night, we just rested and watched video from his BB.

- Our self-declared relaxed day!
- Yummy dim sum breakfast overlooking HK Island (TST)
- Shopping @ Ladies Street and Fa Yuen Street (Mongkok)
These 2 streets are much more interesting than Temple Street! Shall spend more time there if I revisit HK again:) And Wai Kei finally found his street food there!:)
