CCA

Ever since I started working, there are countless moments where I find myself being thankful for all those things that I have experienced and learned during all the CCAs I have participated in during school days.

Athletics in lower pri
This has always served as a strong anchor that I can run and I should keep running:) Perhaps not as fast as I used to be, at least it prevents me from losing it totally:)

Gardening in upper pri
Ahh~ how those weeding sessions and those hands-on with the pungent fertilizers and moist soil make me appreciate nature and find joy in simplicity. The joy of cleaning nature up and the joy of harvesting the fruits of our labour:)

Treasurer in sec sch
Not so much of helping me better manage my finance, but more of the very first training I got from all the paperwork and coordination that I have to do:) Most importantly, it is one stepping stone for opening up to be sociable and interact with all my classmates. Something that the quiet me in pri school has never done before.

Dance in sec sch
Although I feel that wearing heels adds to the professionalism in work, I can't help but feel that something is missing. And whenever I wear my dance shoes, despite all those actions and energy outburst, I feel really grounded:) Something which heels can't achieve. Weird thinking yea?

Anw I can't wait to be grounded soon, again:D

Council/Club in sec sch/jc/uni
Needless to say, I learnt the most during all these CCAs, esp in jc:) Where I'm exposed and taught the "harsher" reality of the world outside our school life. Harsh then, but really appreciate it now:) I have always wonder how I would cope now if I haven't joined the CCAs. I find it really amazing when I actually witness the application or "replica" of instances that I have learnt or experienced before:)

Finally, penned down these thoughts of mine:) These thoughts have been popping up ever since I started working:) Perhaps evidence of how I miss school life, esp those CCAs times:)

***

On a side note, have been having headache since last Thurs and it worsens during the weekends. And today, I found out that my daily dose of coffee before work is the reason. Without it on weekends, my headache seems to worsen. Getting addicted to coffee alrd~ Not a good habit, got to replace it with green tea now:) For now, hope my headache subsides soon:)
Such nice weather, can't wait to jump onto my bed! Nites!:)

Post long wkends and Mon Flu:)

8th week of work alrd! Almost 2 months! If I were doing internship, it should be ending soon, why does it seem longer during then?

Thankfully, I don’t have the time creeping slowly kind of feeling. Rather, time has been zooming passed faster than expected:) Something which I truly appreciate:)

***
The past long weekends have been real good:) Rested and rejuvenated:) Photoshoot with POXML was great fun!:) Though it’s a smaller group, the dynamics and energy were very strong as reflected in our photos! Love all the photos which Marcus took! I think he seriously has a gift for photography, even the candid shots are nice shots! I like I like!:D And I realize all 3 ladies have single eye lids (right?)! Hehehe~

I guess this is probably the last diy graduation photoshoot already:) 3 times – more than enough to cover the cost of the gown hehehe:) Now left our family studio photoshoot!:)
***
Ever since I have started work, I have been spending (much) lesser time surfing/fb/twitter than before. It’s like a need to detox after staring at the desktop for about 10hours at work. And there is actually nothing much to surf (like what an enlightenment)?

So my detox regime is moving me towards spending time out of the virtual world and getting in touch with the real solid world:) Like reading, indulging in some tv, jogging, thinking, spending time with people, housekeeping and maybe purely doing nothing.

Though I find it weird that I actually feel that I have more time and am actually leading a healthier lifestyle ever since I started work, I’m actually loving it:)

Perhaps, work has made my life more organized in some ways and also makes me appreciate personal time better:)

So far so good:) *keeping my fingers crossed*:)
***
Random notes:-
  • Joined the Nike City 10km Race with Ryan, Dawn, Xu Wen, Ernest, Hazel, Joel and LokeX2! And I can’t believe that the race is just 6 weeks later!
  • I’m still searching for my pink casio calculator. It’s always out of stock!
  • I’m looking forward to shop with the vouchers that PFMs gave me! Shoppppingggg~
  • LokeX2 and I have planned a simple day out at the beach – picnic and roller blading! Whee~
  • I have been having Monday Flu for the past 2 weeks, they seems to blast the aircon every Mon.

Oh longer post than I expected:) Have a great Tue! *stretched and signed off~*

1 Home and 3 Hearts:)

Jogging is my transitional buffer between work and home:) It helps me take my mind off work and return home with a fresher mind and pumped up body:)

I once read that our body is our home:) Home for us to live. Without this home, our life is nothing. So we have got to take good care of our home and treat it well for it will bring us to where we want to go in life:)

I like it that I get to do some random thinking and contemplating during a jog, it's during this period that I also work out my brain too:) Ysd's jog got me to think about my life motto. How would I describe my way of life in as little words as possible?

Then the word "Heart" came to my mind:)

3 hearts:)

"Do everything with all my heart"
"Treat people with sincerity that comes from the bottom of my heart"
"Love and protect my heart"

I have to admit that I'm amazed by how my brain works differently during a jog:) Lots of room for thinking and reflecting - I like!:)

***

I have colleagues telling me I'm always smiley whenever they see me in the office:) I thought it was normal until I realize not everyone has a smiley face when they are working.

Why not? Personally, I believe smiling is a way of loving myself. It's free, it's simple and most importantly it's therapeutic:) Whatever that happens to us is something we can't control, so why not smile and make things better us, esp when things are not going too well:)

So whatever that may happen, good or bad, need not stop us from smiling and taking it on positively:) I always like to say this to my student - at this moment, something might seems difficult or bad, but imagine 5 or 10 years down the road, you may find yourself looking back and laughing at yourself.

***

Have a smiley Thurs!:) One more day to TGIF - more reason to smile!:)

*blogging has become my brain food:) feels good capturing my thoughts which I don't think I can rmb if I don't make myself think of a blog post:)*

Presents:)

I think "presents" are so named because someone's presence alone is actually the best gift in our life:)

Looking back on how I celebrate my bday with my family, friends and my LokeX2, it's really not so much on what I get as presents, but it is their presence in my life, celebrating the special day for me and with me that really matters:)

I'm grateful for all the presents I have received (and I know will be receiving still) for this year's bday:) A slightly more special one I would supposed, as I gain a new meaning to presents and bday:)

Nevertheless, I still love all the tangible presents that I got!:D

I am thankful for the presence of all those who have entered into my life and especially those who have made an impact to me:)

***

I think it's rather weird that as I grow older, the less attached I am to "things" and the more sentimental I am to "people/relationships". I hope it stays this way so that I wouldn't become someone who gets obssessed with material gains and possessions:) I like my present state of mind:)

Comes each week, I realize I will look at my organizer and check the upcoming events of the week:) So for this week, there's 6C gathering and CHAOS gathering lined up wheeeee~ And tmr I meeting LokeX2 to get my bday watch:D

Not forgetting it's countdown to long weekends next week:D

Plans simply hype me up!:D

***

Have an eventful week ahead!:)

Loves early morning:)

Used to dislike having to wake up early, my body clock is naturally set arnd 11am to noon. But due to work and early-to-bed bf, I have been sleeping early and waking up early too!:)

Waking up early is no longer a chore as long as I get sufficient sleep and doesn't have the I-have-to-drag-myself-through-the-day feeling:)

I also allow myself enough time to prepare, have time for nice breakfast and BB surfing before I head out:)

Then it's leisure reading time on bus, which makes me feel that I'm still (young and) learning:)

Reaching office earlier allows me to reflect abit (as I blog) and also to gradually get into the work momentum:)

Loves also the warm sun rays that's shining into the office in the mornings too:)

Quite amazed by the transitions in my life and the dynamic perspectives that make me look at ourselves and the world differently:) Perhaps that's growing up:)

Let there be growth each day:) For growth is evidence that I have been living:)

***
On a side note, I notice how fast time really zooms past when work gets busy! Which I very much prefer than waiting for time to pass by slowly:) And I will be out of office tmr for company's value awareness prog @ Downtown East:)

On a side side note, as I was trying to type "busy" + "ness", it turns out to be "business"! Amazing!

On a final note, looking forward to Fri's PFM gathering:D *Mayb that explains why I dreamt of Hui Fang last night! She was learning/playing piano! Hahaha~*

Hope the weather will be good on TGIF:)

UNblue Monday:)

5th week into work, tasked with more responsibilities, heavier workload awaits, I shall not be daunted and take on it One.At.A.Time:)

Not sure if the rest of my freshly graduated friends feel the same, but I do feel overwhelmed by the desire to do well and deliver the "perfect" results. Then today I feel much better after reading about how geniuses like Albert Einstein welcome mistakes and see them as opportunities to learn which help them move towards their goals:)

Their optimism and perspectives are traits worth learning and applying!:) Shall keep them reminder:)

And I love Monday:) Cos there's lovely pinky flower from LokeX2 every Monday to UNblue my Monday:D

Alright, off to meeting:) Have a great Monday!:)

Yeah to bus trips!

Been taking bus to work and most of the time also back home:)

Though not the fastest route, it's definitely cheaper and the best part is it creates the time for me to read, solid book:) No more revising notes like before!

That 20min (x2) each day is the time I feed myself with brain food:)

Completed reading the 1st book since I started work, pretty fast considering that I used to take a long time to finish one. (Study was the main priority then.)

So yeahhhh to bus trips:)

I do take train back home, if I end work later and I need to get back home in time for an evening jog before the sun sets:)

So 4th week into work (and I still thought it's the 3rd week), I'm pretty much adapting to my new lifestyle with better habits which I hope to keep in the long run:)

Having said that, I'm not sure how the work load is going to pile up as the projects progress. Occassional peak periods are understandable. Judging from how youthful and lively my colleagues seems to be (as compared to their actual age), I'm quite assured it's going to be manageable:)

Right now, so far so good:) Learning new stuffs each day and making progresses each day:)

For now, it's time to celebrate my 1-month of work with the Fri and weekends nearing:D

Friends:)

You may build a beautiful house, but eventually it will crumble.
You may develop a fine career, but one day it will be over.
You may save a great sum of money, but you can't take it with you.
You may be in superb health today, but in time it will decline.
You may take pride in your accomplishments, but someone will surpass you.
Discouraged? Don't be, for one thing that really matters, lasts forever - your friendships.

Found this so true while reading one of John C Maxwell's book, Talent is Never Enough, in which he discussed about the importance of relationships.

We can't take anything away with us at the end of our live, the only thing that is evidence of our existence is what we leave behind.

Perhaps we should focus more on what we can leave behind and less on what we can take away:)

Now I can better appreciate what it meant by "To live, to love, to learn, and to leave a legacy" :)

I'm also glad that I have a handful of friends and mentors who, according to the book, are lifters in my life, they believe in me, encourage me and most importantly I feel valued and appreciated with them around:)

Without them, I would not have been who I am today:)

Looking forward to all the upcoming gatherings for the much-needed uplifting sessions admist our work:D

My new love for shopping:)

Shopping with LokeX2 turns out to be more fun than the shopping itself:)

All his tactics to keep me frm buying, frm entering the shops and his strategies to distract me, though never fails to fail, never fails to entertain me:D

Guess the HK trip makes us both uds each other's shopping capabilities and limits, so we sort of work out a balance:)

Loving it:) We know very well he is not my best companion for serious retail therapy, but when we do shop now, it's more of window shopping and self entertaining each other:)
And he found his love for magazine:)
And we love this surprise that pleasantly ends our Tue meet up:D How cute is that:) Had this before at Tampines 1 Manpuku and Vivo outlets but I only got to see this at Raffles City!
Alrighty, I'm still seriously in need of serious retail therapy! I'm going to endure for just 1 more week plus! Bugisssss and Daisooooo~ Shopping companions stand by plssss:D

For now, it's mid week alrd!:) Yea yea yea~

Monday, August 16, 2010

You just got to start!

And the momentum will be enough to see you through:)

It works for me, whenever I'm faced with what seems like an overwhelming task or something that I need to do but just feel overwhelmed with inertia.

That's what I have been telling myself to get myself out of the house and hit the tracks for 20 min:) So far so good:)

I ran even though it was raining earlier on!:) *claps for being so disciplined!*

Ever since I have started work 3 weeks ago, I have been jogging twice a week, for 3 weeks alrd! Wheee~~ My most committed jogging routine so far (since JC time I supposed) :)

So I'm going to look forward to a nice dinner with my LokeX2 tmr:D

Oh! He has also been waking up arnd 5plus to jog every other days and he's making it a daily routine as much as possible:D *claps!* So he has to sleep arnd 10plus, no later than that!

So we are sleeping earlier and moving more:) Cheers to healthier lifestyle!:)

Alrighty bed time soon:D

3,2,1!

Where should I start?

Sooooo~ many things to update!

Alrighty, 3rd week into work:) 2 more weeks to go and it's my 1st pay!:D

Lots of things that I'm grateful for:)

1. I love my window seat work station (regardless of the harmful sun rays)
Love the daylight, though minimal till date due to the gloomy weather.
Love being closer to the nature.

2. My colleagues are so easy to get along:)
Love the big lunch group, regardless of the difficulty in finding seats during lunch time.
Amaze at how they all look so young despite being mostly married, with children somemore.

3. My supervisor is always willing to teach me:)
I'm really thankful that she doesn't just throw me into a sea of measurements. She always take the time to explain the rationale for each task. I'm reallyX2 grateful that she trusts me enough to gradually let me take on more responsibility.

4. I love my workplace being so close to my hse!
I can reach home within 30min by bus or train and it really makes alot of difference! So even if I work slightly overtime, I will still be able to have my home-cooked dinner in the shortest time possible:)

5. I love having post-work gatherings with LokeX2, Novena gang (Dawn and Xu Xu) and uni friends!
Perks worth looking forward to after a day of hard work:D
***
Slowly tuning my lifestyle as a working adult:)

Have been religiously jogging every Tue and Thurs (no bad weather at all for me to make any excuses:P).

Enjoy jogging slightly more than before, probably because it provides me with precious me time after a long day at work:) And it feels really good to sweat it out after staying in the air-con office for the whole near 10 hours Mon to Fri!:)

Hope this habit stays and hope I can continue to find balance even when work commitments increase:)

Alrighty! Time for bed! Another habit to keep - early to bed, eary to rise:D

Good nighty!:D

With all the time in the world AND zero budget

As I woke up today, I thought of how I should spend my holidays now with zero budget (as I'm running low on budget already). Then I attempted to come up with a list of activities for me to do with zero cost. And amazingly I did it (I thought I will get stuck at number 5):) So here's the list for those of you spending your holidays on low budget just like me:)

Top 10 activities that cost $0!
***
  1. Read. Old books or borrowed books from the library.
  2. Go out for a jog. Reconnect with nature, build up your stamina, breathe in fresh(er) outdoor air, strengthen your immune system, burn some calories and enjoy some "me" time.
  3. Pack your room. You can even re-discover new items, reduce, reuse or recycle them! Green for the environment, good for your soul:) I even found my hand written notes in my secondary school days and the evolution of my handwriting as well!
  4. Edit photos with free programme like Photoscape. Gain a sense of satisfaction from seeing how you can create different nice effects and transfer a normal photo into pretty ones:) Zero dollar for personalizing your photos:)
  5. Have fun with your camera! Just head out to anywhere (even just your neighbourhood) and capture interesting moments which we usually don't notice. You may start to see things from different perspectives too:)
  6. Medidate. Nothing to do with anything religious, perhaps except for the fact it is recommended to be done religiously. It is said to boost immune system by preventing our body system from running on an overdrive and as a result creating a greater demand for energy. It also helps to create more self awareness and if done properly can help to promote better breathing (abdominal breathing as compared to chest breathing).
  7. Sleep early. Although getting more sleep requires zero cost, it will reap invaluable benefits for our body and beaty:)
  8. Watch catch-up TV on xinmsn. Catch up on shows which we miss during our busy times without having to subscribe to anything.
  9. Blog. More time to jot down your thoughts and upload tons of photos. :)
  10. Let your creativity juice takes over:) I'm sure there are more activities to this list:)
So ending off with edited photos from my holidays:)

POXML Dim Sum lunch cum Lin Yi's 23rd!
***
The 主角 for the day - Mr. Dryfit! :) He better uses the BPA-free water bottle which we got for him!
I like this!:) So Singapore~
And the LG hp group. Busy with their gadgets.
Greg&Joan wedding videoshoot!
***
The process of video shoot was really sweet and interesting:) Cant wait to see the end product soon:)
PFM Kushin Bo Atas Dinner cum Juan's 24th!
***
Happy birthday to Wei Juan! The process of surprise was hilarious as she still have no idea what happened even though the birthday song is played throughout the restaurant.

The bangs gang:)
Ending off with our group photo, missing Hui Fang and Hazel. Hope the flash wasn't too harsh:) Look at all those working adults! How we evolve~ Collected more namecards too! Good to see everyone slowly settling down with their work and for those of us still on holidays, enjoy it while it lasts:)
Alrighty I shall be good and wait patiently for my gst package while I exhaust my top 10 list:)

One week

Just one week ago (last Friday to be exact), it was my last day of school, as a student. We celebrated and in about another week, with the announcement of "Time's up, put your pens down," I will officially complete my last task as a student.

Can't believe it, how fast is that! A total of 16 years of studying and taking exams! Luckily it also means knowing many friends along the way, alot of friends in fact:) Learnt things that I can't ever learn from books too.

This is one important phase of my life coming to an end.

And it's time to move on.

It's time to enter into a brand new phase and to start learning all over again:) Hoping to apply whatever I can to adapt to the new environment of working life:) It's going to be exciting I believe:)

But not before I enjoy my holidays~~~ I mean REAL holidays! Cos after that will be the start of my career! I can't wait for my grad trips and the luxury to do whatever I want!:D I'm already excited at the thought of that!:D

Alrighty, calm down, am supposed to sleep but just feel like blogging in the midst of studying. I shouldn't be sleeping so late. Cos coincidentally, one week before, on the last day of school, I lost my voice as I was recovering from sore throat and cough. One week later, I'm still inflicted by cough and sore throat, though I have regained most of my voice. Wish my speedy recovery:)

I really detest sore throat. Given a choice, I would rather be coughing my lungs out. Sore throat just kills whatever positive moods I have.

On a lighter note, I shall blog about some (actually only 2) last foodie moments in NUS w LokeX2 on our last week of school soon:)

Thursday, April 08, 2010

Nope, it's not cheddar, swiss or superbrie.

It's Cheeeeeeesssseeeeecakeee~
***
Whee~ Finally, I tried out the Japanese Cheesecake recipe:) It's alot more work than any other recipes I have tried (not that I have tried alot), but it's all worth it when I smell the bakery-type-of-cheeesy aroma:D Heavenly really:)

I had it for a quick breakfast this morning before I rushed off to school. I have to say it seriously tastes even nicer after refrigeration!:D It's a nice feeling to be eating something that's actually baked by myself:) Who would have thought that I would actually bake? Not even myself. I'm glad that I'm inspired by Jamie Teo's food blog:)

Learnt a few new bakery terms, soft peak is one. Initially I was totally clueless about "beat egg whites till soft peak forms". I almost wanted to just add in the runny egg whites mix to the cake mix but luckily there's google and youtube to the rescue:)

So presenting the egg whites mix - 6 egg whites to be precise. Sinful but still heavenly:)
Combining the egg whites mix with cake mix:) Alright the sinfulness is in the cake mix - containing 6 egg yolks:P The whole cake is just sinfully delicious:)
Photos taken purely because I'm amazed by the pretty colours and foamy textures:)And after an hour of baking, ta-da! Hot cheesecake! Once again, it's really yummilicious!:D Best consumed after refrigeration!
I'm planning to bake more of these already~ :D

Invisible

Albert Einstein said, “not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted.”

Love this quote that I came across today while reading this:) It's a good reminder for us to appreciate the invisible. The intangibles in life are what really matter most, don't you think so?

That's why
health is wealth and
joy, love and peace are what we yearn for:)

We should learn to recognize and appreciate what we can feel though we may not be able to see them. Let not social standards fully dictate what are important in life alright? :)

Note to self: Love life and everything that comes with it and save on the complaints:) There's so much more to life:)

Early morning:)

I'm up exceptionally early @ 9am, for those who know me it's early given that I only managed to sleep arnd 5am:)

Of course for special reason! I'm making crepe breakfast for my family:)

Luckily I prepared the batter the night before, otherwise I would have to wake up even earlier.

And the best part is they actually love it:) Yippie!:)

It's the basic kind of crepe, super easy to make, you can try it too!:) It's taken from Jamie Teo's blog (once again), simply love it when she posts up those you-can-also-do-it kind of recipe:) There's lots of other more challenging and yummier recipes too!

I have also prepared extra batter for our Disputes Mgmt project meeting later@my house:) Hope they will like it too:) And maybe I shld post some photos later:)

Waking up early indeed feels really good (perhaps except for the dragging yourself out of the bed part):) It's as though I have earned myself a few good hours extra:)

I have prepared for tuition at 12pm.
I have made around 10 crepes and ate some too.
I have had coffee.
I have chatted with my mummy.
I have checked my mails, fb, twitter and everything else.
I have blogged.
:)

I'm still working on sleeping earlier and waking up earlier, especially on days when I have no class:)

But I'm glad that at least I did it today:)

Today's going to be a good day:) Ditto to everyone else!:)

Doing. Together.

Love it when we share our hobbies and likes.

Like how he loves Kenshin anime, Family Guy and The Return of the Condor Heros and gets me watch with him, even though he has watched them all before.

Like how he loves cycling and gets me to cycle with him even when my stamina only allows us to cycle a much shorter distance and a slower pace.

Like how he loves to play Mousehunt and persuaded me to join in the fun, even though he's the one playing for me most of the time. (And I'm always complaining about his overly obsessive MH-ing.)

Like how he wants me to join the Rat Race game with him and took the time to teach me the rules of the games.

He's happy and contented just that:)

That's why I also love it

when he took part in flashmob with me even though he's not that into dance.

when he watch Hi My Sweetheart with me and even told me how he actually enjoys it.

when he shops with me patiently despite having zero interest in girls shopping.

when he jogs with me instead of cycling even though he has knee injury.

when he is almost always willing to do anything that I propose, be it puzzle, collage or mini room make-over.

I'm happy and contented just that too:)

To us, love is not about an individual, it is maintained by both parties:) And it is an on-going process of learning, learning to love each other, every day:)

Domesticated mid-week :)

Wonderful Wed
***
Wonderful Wed starts off with a satisfying sleep from yesterday:) Together with the cooling weather, it is perfect:)

Disciplined myself to finish off my to-do list that includes revision, tutorials and projects in the afternoon before I have a late lunch:)

Cos I'm aiming to spend the rest of the day baking!:D

So after the much needed grocery+Watsons shopping, I'm all set to bake banana cake with the so-called easiest recipe trial and tested by Jaime Teo! Preparation work is easily accomplished in less than an hour, it's that easy!

The ingredients required and not forgetting bananas too!

The before. I still thought I would need to use a smaller pan/make small muffins instead as it looks so little until my mummy reminded me that it will rise -_- How forgetful.
After 40minutes of chemical reaction - "ding!" Omg! I was so excited! Feels so accomplished:D
And it's yummy! Soft, moist and delicious, not self praise alright, it's the recipe!:)
Half of it is already wiped out by me and my family! Leaving the rest for tomorrow and LokeX2!:) Feeling hungry already? Go try it! It will be such a morale booster for newbie like me:)
Ernest Quarter Century Bday Surprise
***
FB is playing some tantrum, albums need to be uploaded a few times before it's successful. So I shall post some of them here since it's Ernest big day today (and I'm masking my face) :)

Lynn is really sweet to plan a (supposedly) big surprise with around 40 people! Imagine sms all of them and coordinating everything including the buffet.

Ernest ar, *shake head* on the other hand seems to find joy in uncovering all the surprises. He ended up surprising us. Either way, I'm sure he still enjoyed his bday celebration, in his own way:)

Not forgetting the promise 2 years ago, LokeX2 created this greeny Ernest-y bday card:) Ernest, you wasn't around when the rest saw this card. Everyone just burst into laughter!
Lynn and LokeX2 cracking their heads to foolproof the surprise. Look at the number of shoes that were originally in your living room. In the end, we figured out that it would be better for everyone to surprise you outside instead of trying to hide all the shoes (and the people) inside the house.
Having some shooting fun while waiting:)

With Dawn whose fringe is always so nicely swept to the left side and actually remains there! I have to resort to bangs to resolve the messy fringe issue. So now I can take photos on any sides!
Xu Wen inspecting the surrounding and checking for Ernest's zhong ying. Anw, I like this shot:) Purely personal judgement alright:)
Look at the number of people waiting on Level 9! Lined up so nicely! And there's another group on Level 7 which was unfortunately caught by the ever-suspicious Ernest.
Dawn and Xu xu! I just realized both of your fringe are on alternate sides!
LokeX2<3
Sweet (chocolate) photo!:)
Playing with Colour Accent:)
Joel and Joyce enlightened me with the super duper macro effect - I like!:)
Practicing for PFM grad trip photo taking:)
Carol-styled!
The crew behind the surprise!:D It was only until I saw this pic then I realized there was really ALOT of people! Like what Xiao Qian says, I like this photo cos it's super lovely:) Ernest better treasure Lynn ar! Next year, we may really sign petition not to celebrate your bday at all hor!
To Ernest,
Though we are not frequently in contact now, I'm still glad that I have the opportunity to work with you in MC and also know you personally as a friend:) Our paths may now be different, but I'm grateful that you have crossed my path and inspired me with your life story and your guidances. I wish you all the best and do what you are best at - being your own best!:)
From, Da Tou Wa Wa

P.S pls discount the size of head with my bangs!:)

A Day Dedicated to my Body

Sorry for the long hiatus, life has been great since submission of dissertation, CNY and all:) If fact there's loads of photos to be edited and posted! As it's the do-projects-and-tutorials-and-revision period, that has to be put on hold for awhile more.

And here I am at home, resting and hoping for a speedy recover of my sorethroat-manifested cough. Can't talk too much and can't talk too excitedly , which I usually do. Quite a torture actually.

Really appreciate my group mates for granting me this rest day as they excused me from a meeting for our Thurs's tutorial presentation:) Thanks young and lively group mates!:)

Although there's nothing nice about being sick, I still do appreciate how my body signals to me, reminding me to take good care of it and directing my attention to my health:) Many a times we are so caught up with many external matters that require our attention and time that we sometimes, in fact most of the time, take our health for granted.

The priority is never on taking care of our health actually, unless they start to fail us. So I will do my best to heed my body's advice and pamper my health as soon as it is showing signs of breaking down. As experiences taught me, the best thing to do is to recuperate as soon as possible before it snow-balls and deteriorate even further. Otherwise, I may have to sacrifice more time for other equally important matters.

So today, I dedicate this day to my body, to let it rest awhile and slow down a bit. I'm glad that I can also afford a bit of time to do some reflection here:)

For everyone, do take care. Drink more water and rest well. Weather hasn't been too kind on us and our body has been working non-stop for as long as our age. Our body however has no warranty, so we have got to treasure it and take good care of it, for our future:)

I still need to learn to lead a healthier lifestyle while balancing the different priorities in my life. Life is a balancing act isn't it? That's one of the way we love ourselves and love our life. Only then, can we afford to spread the love around:)

So reminder of the day - let's keep everything in balance:)
